What to do about LibreOffice databases

I just migrated from Windows10 Creator to an IMac with Sierra.  I was told that LibreOffice would work.  It doesn't.  The word processor prints everything landscape (but I can export each odb document to a pdf file which will print portrait; annoying for sure but do-able.) The biggest problem, however is that because there is no more jre or jdk, my database files are completely useless. 

I've tried Codeweavers Crossover (doesn't open anything including the version of LibreOffice it is bundled with); RazorSql which is supposed to open odb files but I surely couldn't make head nor tales of how.

I've submitted bug files to LibreOffice but it seems this is more an Apple issue.  Is anyone working on this?  I have a database of a hundred pages that is over 10 years old.  Luckily I did export a pdf report of its contents but I need this database and no longer can maintain it.
