Is there a way to view AirDrop transfer history?

As the title says - is there a way to view AirDrop transfer history, either from the sending or receiving side?  We're using iPads at a middle school, and would really like to leave AirDrop turned on, however, we are having some trouble with students passing inappropriate notes in class using AirDrop.  We're handling it pretty well from a discipline/classroom management angle, but in some he said/she said cases, it would be nice to be able to verify.  Does iOS keep a record of AirDrop transactions of any kind?  Thanks!

The answer is "no." AirDrop does not keep a log of these transactions so you can audit them later.

You could supervise the devices and turn AirDrop off, no?

IInteresting that no one, not even techies, has been able to enlighten us on this issue.

Doesn't anyone have an answer?

If you like fishing around... You could connect the ipad to a computer.  You may need to connect to your supervising computer and look around.  A high school student would be the ideal person to do the fishing.

These apps may  be more restricted in 8.x.  Apple added more security in 8.x

My interest in seeing an AirDrop history is unrelated to a student-teacher situation.

I would simply like to be able to see a history of which devices I sent files to and received files from using AirDrop.

There are lots of wifi transfer apps.

ipad wifi transfer

for example:

I did not find a list on the computer version of dukto

"Dukto is a simple application that allows you to share files between devices connected to the same (wireless) LAN network."

The unique aspect of AirDrop and AirPlay with recent iOS devices is that they do not have to be on the normal home or office network or local public hotspot. Both set up their own discrete wireless connection between devices similar to Direct Wifi.

Such a connection requires both Bluetooth and Wifi settings to be ON (notice clicking the AirPlay or AirDrop buttons in the Control Center on iOS devices turns both). Bluetooth is used for local discovery of other devices and WiFi direct is used for transmitting info between devices.

iOS 10 is now out. Is there still no way to see a log of AirDrop transfers? I have the same issue as many here. I work at a school and have been asked on more then one occasion to help figure out who received what.

I am a high school photography teacher and have an apple lab. I am having the same problem. It is such a fantastic collaborative tool for dispersing images. Students are savvy and it's a double edged sword.

Apple can you please resolve this issue. This is to your benefit as I am essentially "selling" your product to these kids for you. Please assist.

Here is the place for suggestions:

I was wondering the exact same thing about history of airdrop BECAUSE I have a customized ringtone so I'll KNOW if anyone attempts an airdrop or request of a pic from my phone!! I actually heard that ringtone and it alerted and alarmed me there was an airdrop yet no message, no history, no documentation of  WHAT was accessed from my device!!! i find this very invasive and a security issue that Apple should take very seriously fr its users. we did a case study on Apple in my "Strategy and Innovariin" class and our family is several generation Apple users and  I'm very tech savvy so this is unsettling!! in ADDITION...this week my name on my Apple ID was changed and I noticed on my phone so signed in to change it but it wouldn't allow me or there was no save button so signed in on computer and called Apple. they said that wasn't good yet could find no trace of who did it yet they said they usually document all calls, changes etc and there was nothing , noelia sent to me of changes, etc. Apple fix this or people will leave you and go over to google or android devices!!
