Unable to upgrade OSX
Hello,
I am using OS X Mountain Lion version 10.8.5 on my MacBook Pro (Mid 2012, 4GB RAM). I have tried installing OSX High Sierra, and according to the specification, I meet the upgrade requirements. It takes some time installing, and when it re-boots, I get an error message saying "macOS could not be installed on this computer. Error occurred while verifying firmware." I've tried again and got the same problem.
I have then tried downloading OS X El Capitan, however when clicking GET in App Store, I get a message saying "We could not complete your purchase. This version of OS X 10.11 cannot be installed on this computer." I really need OS X 10.10 or later.
OSX Yosemite gives me an error message in App Store "The item you've requested is not currently available in the UK Store."
Also, I am using a Toshiba 1TB HD, plugged in to USB port as my hard drive, since the one inside MBP is broken.
Does anybody have an idea what the problem might be?
Thank you in advance
