How do I change project tempo without effecting...

I've tried SMPTE lock.  No luck.

I don't want any audio / midi / automation to change.

I just want to change the project tempo.

Please.

I also spoke to someone in Apple support who suggested using "follow tempo" on audio tracks.  However, this is also producing undesirable results.  HELP!

Why do you want to change the tempo when you actually appear to want to keep the tempo?

I want to change the project tempo without effecting any audio / midi / automation.  I am trying to show Logic the BPM of my song so I can adjust the song's tempo changes and have more control when mixing.

Follow tempo is unchecked on all audio tracks.

I've also tried locking regions and automation to SMPTE.

Still, I am hearing changes in my song after changing the tempo.

Is it just audio tracks that are altering?

Do you have Flex enabled?

Audio regions AND midi regions are included.

Flex IS enabled on a few tracks.  Unchecking Flex alters audio so I'm guessing I will have to bounce those tracks in order to keep the audio from being altered by disabling Flex?

Thanks again for the replys.  There was a combination of things holding me back.  I'm going to cover them quickly for anyone else that might find this info useful.

Follow Tempo checkbox on audio regions was an issue.

Locking audio regions into SMPTE is fairly easy.  However, Locking all annotation is another story.  In order to lock annotation you need to open the Annotation Event List window.  By default it SHOULD open with command, control, E.  However, I tested 2 systems which both did not understand that command.  In the Logic Prefs / Key Commands, I had to select U.S. under options.  Then, this key command would work.  Also, instead of selecting annotation on indivdual tracks and locking one by one, use the button on the top left of the Annotation event window which looks like an arrow.  This takes you to another folder level which allows selection on ALL annotation in the project to be locked.  Time saver.  Here's a link to a similar thread that discusses some of these things...

Finally, CCTM suggested looking to see if any audio regions were Flex enabled.  Sure enough, a few were.

Now that Logic isn't trying to hijack my awkward song tempo, I can begin some tedious Beat Mapping.

This is a perfectly Logical workflow to me:

1. create a new project with default settings, no time to waste just want to record your idea quickly

2. you begin recording your eg. guitar and voice

3. your idea is evolving, you add some overdubs, make few cuts and edits here and there, perhaps record add some Midi tracks with simple beat recorded on your keys, record some base guitar etc.

4. after few more edits you realize you need more precision, metronome would be useful, let's edit some project settings!

5. you're changing the default tempo (120 bpb) to your desired eg. 74 and bam! your project is all messed up.

I've been struggling to find the way of changing the Logic App tempo to the actual tempo of the song without affecting any of my regions position and length of regions, always had to give up as this seems to be a rocket science.
