Intermittent vertical blue line

For the past several months I have had an intermittent vertical blue line that appears on the screen about 1/4 from the right hand side of the screen. It does not seem to matter what is on the screen. The line shows through everything and seems to lay on top of all programs. I can make it go away by restarting Finder or restarting the machine. Then, after a while, it will reappear.  Any thoughts?  iMac Late 2015 21.5 inch screen OS X 10.12.6  Thanks!
