photos issue

hi

i have recently upgraded my hard drive too solid state on my iMac 21 inch. I have 2 photo libraries, one of which will open ok, the other 'claims' to be from a newer version of photos and refuses to open. The OS is up to date, I cannot see any other way to update photos [currently 1.5].

Also does anyone know a reasonable way of importing an older i-photo library to photos without losing the event information?
