Two iPads showing same searches

We have two iPads and when one searchs for something it shows up on the other - in mail and safari, is there a way to stop this happening?

Both iPads are using ios 10.

sorry about this but they are both using IOS 11.

if they have the same appleID that is likely the cause and likely by design
