iPad 2 unusable after updating iOS

My daughter was using her iPad 2 without a problem and then suddenly the iPad is stuck with the activation. It says "activation error," "Try to activate later", "call apple support". I had been restoring it for several times but to no avail.

I do understand that apple need to make more new iPads but this is just so ridiculous that older iPads cannot be used because it is old and the iOS made it useless. Really so disappointed.

Yes, exactly the same issue here, I didn't even update mine, just turned it on and it cant be activated, after it had been working fine. It seems a lot of people who have an iPad 2 are in the same boat now, hopefully a fix comes out soon.

Yes same issue here. I was just trying to fix the problem and apple support mentioned to update/restore the iPad. But the problem is just repeating, new sets of iOS but stuck on activation.
