How to email a PDF from iBooks?

Please tell me this is a horrible misunderstanding and I am not doing something right or am not looking in the correct place.

Please do not tell me that I can not email a portable document.

Can it be opened in Pages? If there is indeed no way to do this task, is there an "app for that"?

You cannot email a PDF from ibooks.  You can email pdfs from goodreader, pdf expert, pdf pro, etc.  If you want to email a pdf do not place it in ibooks first.

(Pre-edit:I'll keep what I wrote for posterity, but after some quick research it seems that apps claim to have import capability, but I haven't looked hard enough to see if there is a free one. Haven't downloaded anything to test out yet either)

Other than the many reasons for that being absolutely ridiculous, I appreciate the reply. At least there is something.

I will go and attempt to use one of those applications, but would like to ask one more question:

When you are viewing a PDF in Safari, you can "open in IBooks", which essentially saves it to the device. With one of those apps, do you have the option to then open it with x application?

For my needs, simply sending a link of the PDF to a customer is either inconvenient for them, or flat out impossible to do and must be sent as a file itself (typically it's more of the latter).

Strange. I was just given the option to email a different PDF from iBooks in my iPad. The same file didn't give me the option on my iPhone however, only to print.

But the initial PDF I wanted to send didn't have the Email option (from the arrow/share button) on either device.

Maybe the original PDF file has permissions set up differently- read only?

Yes you can email a PDF from iBooks.  You have to, 1: have the mail app and not another offbrand email application like Outlook, and 2: make sure the pdf is within your attachment size limit, because if it is too big, it won’t give you a warning, it just won’t give you the option to send it to Mail.  I specifically like the fact that you can select multiple pictures and export it to iBooks as a pdf then turn around and email it as a single document.
