sierra mail

I have just upgraded to macOS sierra (10.12) on my MacBook Pro and I can not see or open attachments is some of the email messages sent to me.  The attachments to these messages are readily available on both my iPhone and iPad.  Where are the attachments and how can I download them?

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you are having issues with you email on your computer. I know how important it is to be sure emails are working properly at all times. The good news is there are a couple of articles you can take a look at and find some great steps to be able to resolve the issue. First, try rebuilding your mailboxes here are the steps: Mail for Mac: Rebuild mailboxes.

Once you have rebuilt the mailboxes, if you don't see your attachments, try removing and adding your email account by checking out this article: Mail for Mac: Set up Mail with your email accounts.

Try this work around

Go to mail preferences

Clock on your account

Click on Server Settings

Unclick, "Automatically manage connection settings"

I had the same problem.  After the most recent update 10.12.2 it got worse.  Email headings would show up, body and attachments were gone.  Apple support had me reinstall the operating system.  It fixed all mail problems (missing email body and missing attachments).

1)     Back-up your computer

2)     Restart holding command R.  Let go once Apple logo appears

3)     Click reinstall MacOS

I'm not sure if this answer your question or not and before I could send attachments from my email address to other email accounts, but when I installed Sierra 10.12.6 I could no longer use my Yahoo email account to send attachments to my clients. I found a solution and on your Apple dock click on Mail that has a picture of an eagle on a postage stamp. This is the new way to send attachments to other email address.
