cannot install app from AppStore

I am trying to install a game called "Life is Strange", which has a size of 13.5 GB. In my AppStore app under the Purchased tab I can see it marked as "Installed" but greyed out. In my Launchpad I can see the game as still downloading. I just cannot install this game, although I could see that the game was downloaded under:

/private/var/folders/_w_80djx3_37830dqk9rdzf40000gn/com.apple.appstore/109036966 4/qam6554069928669787549.pkg

If I clean this directory and restart the download I end up in the same situation. How to clean the cache properly so that I can restart the download and install successfully?

Is it in your Applications folder?

Try downloading in the Safe Mode or another admin account.
