After working for a couple years with no proble...

I'm using a 2012 Macbook Pro, and an older Focusrite 2i2 that I've used for a few years.  This setup has worked for years but recently I've had some problems.  Occasionally the Focusrite is recognized as both an input and output audio device and everything works recording wise.  But, now more often than not, I get a message that says my previous audio device could not be found, my focusrite only shows up as an input and doesn't allow me actually record any input.  Sometimes my device shows up as an input and an output and everything records, but this seems to happen less and less these days.  Has anyone experienced this, or have an idea of what might be happening/how to fix?  Thanks so much!!!

Difficult to say... we don't know what's changed on your system... have you been upgrading OSX?

Took me 45 seconds to find this

Searched on this:

I've been doing regular upgrades.

I saw that thread on Focusrite.  Thank you.

Strangely, my Focusrite always shows up as an input device when using Logic pro x, but only works for recording when it shows up as an input and output device.  Showing up as both happens less and less

I've used the focusrite on another computer and it works.

resetting the NVRam worked once but not since.

Thanks for the response!

Hello Jfad,

Did you ever solve this problem? i'm having the same issue. I've had no problems with Logic or my older generation 2i2 for years. Now I've updated to Sierra and Logic 10.3.2 it won't find my interface anymore. I'd be really grateful to hear your advice!

Kat
