iPod touch 4th gen, screen lights up but no image

sorry to put this under iphones, but there doesn't seem to be an I touch category. My daughters iTouch has been dead for many months, the battery gave out. I decided I would try changing the battery, I watched a couple of videos on YouTube and then carefully opened the unit, removed the old battery, soldered in the new battery and then put it back together. When I press the master switch on the top, the screen lights up bright white, but there is no image. When I connect it to my PC with a USB cable, iTunes tells me the itouch is locked and to enter the 4 digit code to unlock it. Obviously the unit is working but I must have messed something up with the display connections. I did not disconnect the smal, ribbon cable at the top of the unit, but the large cable with plug to the right did come disconnected. I have plugged it back in and all seems correct but I have no idea where to start looking for my mistake. Any suggestions?

regards Gary

Since you opened the device, Apple will no longer support it. I suggest that you check some of the websites such as ifixit to see if you can find some information.

Thanks, I didn't realize this forum was only for items covered by apple warranty, I thought it was a general discussion forum. I will look else where for help.

regards Gary
