Emptying iPad mailboxes

I have 3,546 messages in my iPad inbox. I want to delete all of them, but I don't want to do it one-by-one. Is there a way to delete all of them with one click?

Use a computer's web browser to visit your email service provider's webmail site.  You will find much faster deletion methods there than on the iPad.

Otherwise, you could, of course, simply remove the email account from your iPad.

That worked, but it also deleted all the messages from my iMac. I didn't want to do that. Well, now I'll look for ways to reinstate cancelled messages. I've seen articles on that, but I've never read them. Now I will. One more thing, how do I turn off the Mail in my iPad? I've thought of doing that before, but I didn't know how to do it. It would be the perfect solution for me.

If you have an IMAP email account, deleting the email in one place will delete it in all of them. The whole point of IMAP is to keep mail in sync across all devices.

If you want to remove the account from your iPad, go to Settings>Mail, select the account you want to turn the mail off in and either simply turn mail off or delete the account from the phone.

I didn't know that about iMAP. I've been looking for ways to restore cancelled files, but I haven't found anything yet. Many articles and apps for doing this, but none of them seem to go anywhere. I guess I'm just going to have to forget about those files. Well, maybe I can still accomplish something. My iPad screen now has Mail on the left side highlighted. On the right side, is iCloud and two Internet Service Providers. Oh, I see. You can delete them or just turn them off. I'll turn them off for now. Too bad I didn't know this before, because I hadn't wanted to delete Mail from my iMac. I've kept that under control. I had just wanted to delete the mail from my iPad.
