macbook pro 13" mid 2012 dual drive set up

Hi

I have Macbook Pro 13" Mid-2012 with stock specification except I have its RAM upgraded to 16gb. I am looking for new upgrade this weekend to install Samsung Evo 850 500gb SSD. However, I dont want to simply dump my stock HDD. I want to put it to use. But I have few questions regarding its installation:

1. which one better: SSD in OptiBay and stock HD in HD bay, or SSD in HD bay and stock HD in OptiBay? since I heard there are issues regarding both arrangement:

a. for SSD in OptiBay, it will suffer from 3gb/s that is supported by superdrive, while actually the SSD is capable of 6gb/s. I also heard this arrangement will cause the macbook to freeze after deep sleep.

b. for HD bay in OptiBay, the HD itself will be prone to damage as the Sudden Motion Sensor is only available in HD bay, while SSD, which is placed in HD bay, has no need of this feature. I also heard that doing this will cause the laptop to overheat more than the previous arrangement.

2. how about the battery performance? i will put my system and apps to run in SSD, while the other medias will be stored in stock HD. I heard some suffer from noticeable drop battery performance while others say they got better battery performance since they will only write and read SSD most of the time. Thank you in advance.
