Problem with my iMac late 2012 has started around 1 week ago. It is the slowest thing on the planet:(
I have already:
- deleted all not important files from HDD,
- closed all background apps (at least I believe I have)
- updated the OS

In User launch agents you have an entry bittorrent. You need to remove that as it has a habit of being bundled with all sorts of Adware and malware
