I believe by visiting stupid websites, my mac now has malware or viruses. i need to get rid of them. What is the best antivirus for mac??

You probably don't have a virus, but from clicking on things you shouldn't, you may have malware. Run Malwarebytes: https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/

macOS should have all the virus protection needed built in, but if you insist on using anti-virus, use ClamXAV, but just run it and turn it off: https://www.clamxav.com/
