Macbook Air 2015 CRASHING/FREEZING

Hi all,

I bought my Macbook Air 2015 brand new from the apple store 11 months ago.

I had no problems with it up until 6 weeks ago, it completely died and was sent to Apple, they told me the main logic board had failed so they put a new one in and sent it back.

When I got it back, it was freezing and crashing every 30 minutes more or less... and I had to completely turn the power off and then it would start again, same over and over.

I would like to say that this laptop has barely anything on it, only used for University work, internet browsing and watching Netflix... so big programmes or games etc...

So around 3 days after receieving it back, it would start but it couldn't find a hard drive, therefore I took it back to Apple again and they said the hard drive had split itself into 20 parts... god knows how... so they reformatted the HDR and gave me the computer back wiped and as if it was new... nothing on it.

It's been 2 days since I've had it back and it is crashing/freezing again, does anyone have any idea why this could be happening? I am absolutely up to my eyeballs in stress as I use it to do my University work and presentations...however, it's a bit difficult to do it as it's freezing mid presentation etc...

Based on nothing but your description of the issues and what Apple has done to date to try to resolve it, you may just have a "lemon" device. Whatever you do, don't try to perform any repairs yourself that require opening the MBA or replacing parts.

At this point, you have a number of choices:

1. Continue to allow Apple to try to resolve the problem.
2. Request that Apple provide you with a new device to replace (not further repair) this current one. This may or may not work as Apple typically cuts off this option after a 14- or 30-day period.
3. Contact Apple directly and demand that the AppleCare warranty be satisfied.
4. Seek legal advice.
