Swapfiles crashing my computer

So I'm using about 2/3rds of the storage on my 120GB Macbook Air but every time I use it, Apple starts generating swapfiles. They take up all my space and I end up with a full disk and have to restart my computer every 10-15 minutes. This is ridiculously inconvenient and my computer is virtually useless for more than a quarter of an hour. I had 20 swapfiles last time I restarted. Is there any way to fix this?
