How do I stop those annoying messages telling m...

My phone is notifying me that my iCloud is nearly full and I should pay for more. A) this is the hardest device I've ever owned to delete anything from. I can delete one item at a time, and not even from my computer. 

B) I don't want any of my data on the cloud. 

C) why ask me to pay for something I'm angry to find out they are doing? 

Someone please tell me how to stop these pop up ads, and please don't say just pay them.

Back your iPhone up on your computer, then they will stop and everything is backed up for an emergency.

I don't want to install the software on my computer. I've installed iTunes before and it's very invasive, requiring permission to access anything on my computer.

I don't need a backup for my phone. I've lived most of my life without a cell phone, and if this one died it wouldn't be an emergency.

Is there a way to just tell iCloud to stop messaging me?

That was a helpful clue. I found a settings item for iCloud and it was backing up every nutty thing like programs I don't use, and Netflix which couldn't need backed up but might be valuable for advertisers. Ironically, I didn't see anywhere where it backed up things Like my phone book, which I would at least consider worth backing up. I've turned it all off and deleted everything.
