Creating Application Specific Passwords with 2

I have 2-Factor Authentication turned on.  I don't see an option to create an application specific password.  I know where the option should be but I don't see it.  Any help would greatly appreciated.

Go to appleid.apple.com and sign in... look for the SECURITY section.

App specific passwords is associated with 2 step verification, not 2 Factor Authentication.

Apple ID - Two Step Verification App Specific Passwords

Thanks for the reply.  I am using 2-Step Verification but I don't an area to setup application specific passwords as instructed in your link.  Thoughts?

Clarification question - which security measure are you using? In your 2 posts, you posted 2 different things.

Go to appleid.apple.com and sign in... look for the SECURITY section.

Everyone is giving you the old answer. The option is no longer there.. The search goes on.

I generated the password, but I can't find here to enter it. I went to my icloud account, but it just says password incorrect. Meanwhile I keep getting the message that icloud is out of date

You don't need an app specific password for iCloud. These special passwords are only for non-Apple apps that don't allow for  password plus a verification code.

What is it you're trying to do?

I have 2 Factor turned on. In Security: There is no option for app specific password.

My Security screen does not show an option for Generate Password. Please help. Wonder why you have a box for it and my screen does not?

I had this problem too. Turns out Apple just wanted to make me update my password first. After that it all worked great!

This is not a reply it's a question. I too got the generated password but I have no idea where to put it?

In the password field of the 3rd party app.

I receive but can no longer send emails via Exchange/Outlook mail account that's linked to my Hotmail account, as a password is now required.

I have same issue as lynfromnb.

I've generated an App-Specific  password but can't find where to paste this.

Re: LACAllen reply ' In the password field of the 3rd party app'.

There appears to be no password field for exchange, outlook & if I paste the generated App-Specific password into password field for Hotmail it is rejected.

I'm not tech savvy, any help would be much appreciated.

The password goes in  the password for the Apple iCloud e-mail account.
