How to extract from backup?

My iphone fell in the toilet the other day so I got an HTC Inspire and my iphone was backed up on my itunes. How do I take that backup and extract all my information (contacts, calender, notes, etc.) so that I can see what I had on there? And I have a Windows Vista, not a Mac. I also would like it all the be completely free to do this.
