I have an old iMac with V 10.6.8  It can no longer be updated.  It has already been to the Apple Genius bar, so that's the story on it.

I'm just trying to set up the email on it.  I have my .mac and .icloud mail set up on my MacAir, and I know my correct email, user name, and password.

But when I try to set it up on the iMac I get this message: Logging in to the MobileMe IMAP server “mail.me.com” failed. Make sure the user name and password you entered are correct, then click Continue. If the information isn’t correct, you cannot receive messages.

Apparently because the computer is so old it still thinks MobileMe is the only server.

I don't know how to fix this problem.  Hopefully someone can help.
