blocked plug

Have MacOS Sierra. Flash Player is totally up to date. In the past couple of months I'm getting "blocked plug-in" messages when I try to open links from sites I've been using. I use Safari as my browser.  Any solutions?  Thanks.

Have you looked at the settings at Safari Preferences > Security > Plug-in Settings to determine if it's an adjustment you can safely make? Be sure that it's a safe setting before lessening security in favor of convenience.

Explanations here: Safari for Mac: If a website has Safari plug-in content

And here: Safari for Mac: Security preferences in Safari

Thank you for your reply.  However, nothing has worked.  Plug-ins for the site are "on", The site currently at issue (as well as the other newly problematic sites) is one that I have dealt with every day for the last 4 years, is completely safe and was never a problem until I updated Sierra 10.12.6 on July 19.

Thank you.

Have you been able to unblock plugins yet? Like you, I have repeatedly tried the fixes mentioned, but still get the blocked plugins message when I try to open a pdf I had requested from a link in Gmail. I'm using OS X Yosemite version 10.10.5 and at the end of my rope. Is there hope?
