DEP is it required?

Hi Guys,

Currently have a school that uses VPP, AC2 and Profile Manager to purchase and deploy apps to iPads which are supervised via AC2.

Due to recent changes to iOS11 and ASM along with DEP. What benefits are using DEP if using AC2 anyway to configure/manage iPads for my school?

Currently we are planning to rebuild server in the next week and have 70+ iPads to be deployed and school wants to use shared iPads feature down the track. What recommendations do you have?

Was planning to upgrade to ASM at some stage using VPP account then using managed apple ID's so shared iPads feature will work as confirmed Apple Senior Advisor don't need DEP like mentioned everywhere I go.

If go down the DEP track if the school decides to sell the iPads can DEP be removed? Trying to get better understand what DEP is if already using AC2 for the same process?
