Ipod touch 5th gen not responding

I've had my iPod touch 5th gen for about 4 years now, and just recently (two days ago) my iPod stopped charging.  When it still had power, not even the headphone jack was working correctly.

I tried everything. I cleaned out the charging port multiple times, with first an unused toothbrush and then a toothpick.  I put it on 5 different charging cables in different outlets (most chargers were just regular apple) which worked just fine with my brothers model, which is the exact same as mine.  I reset it by holding the off and home button many times, and yet nothing.

I've read countless articles on how to fix it, and everything I seem to do doesn't do anything. Eventually, I came to terms with losing everything I had on there, and just decided to factory reset it.  Connecting it to my computer, nothing happened. It didn't show up on iTunes. So I tried my other mac and nothing worked. It is so dead it will no longer reset or even show the dead battery symbol.

Please, does anyone know how to fix it? I'm going on vacation very soon and I need it for when I go.  I've never posted anything on here, and if nothing shows up to help me I'll just go out to see if it can be fixed professionally.

Thanks in advance!

(not sure what operating system it's on, I can't turn it on to check. I just know it's not on the most recent one because it's very old and doesn't do software updates anymore.)
