MacBook Pro is Overheating.
So, just to start off, I have a late 2013 model MacBook Pro with a 13-inch Retina Display. I play quite a bit of video games on my laptop, but lately (say, the last couple of months) I've noticed that it heats up more than usual while playing these games. Even when I crank up my MacBook's internal fans all the way up to full blast (using the SMC Fan Control program I downloaded a while back), it only just barely keeps it under 80 degrees. My battery condition is currently: "replace soon", so I'm wondering if that has something to do with it. Another possibility is that my machine may simply be nearing the end of its shelf life and that it's time to upgrade, but I'd rather not do that if I don't have to.
I'm just wondering if this issue is a common one, and if there are any solutions that won't cost an arm and a leg.
