Will macOS High Sierra Apple File System change...

Will macOS High Sierra Apple File System change the way my current file system function in a Mid-2011 mac? I currently have Sierra Version 10.12.6  The system works fine and was wondering if its feasible to upgrade from Sierra to High Sierra to take advantage of the responsiveness, safety and security. Not sure if the new 64‑bit architecture will work on my mac. I'm pretty sure my Mac is a 32-bit configuration.

Thank you for your valuable time reading my question and concerns. Hope to hear back with good recommendations about upgrading my OS or leave Sierra as is due to compatibility configurations.  I hope my question make any sense. If you need more information about my current Mac, let me know. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Chris

If you can run Sierra then you have a 64-bit machine. Superficially, you will not notice anything between HFS+ and APFS. For more information: Preparing for APFS in macOS High Sierra and Update- macOS High Sierra and APFS Compatibility.
