Google Drive Opening from iCloud

iPhone 5, IOS 10.3.3

My mac and iphone are synched in iCloud. When I open iCloud on my iPhone I see me desktop. If I tap a .doc file it defaults to Google Drive (which I don't use) and ask if I want to save file. Can't open the file. .pdf, photos, etc all open from iCloud with not problem.
