My MacBook Pro (mid 2012) has been going between repairs and engineering for months for heat and lag issues. During one of its repairs the repair center decided to work on the MagSafe too and apparently in the process dented the connector area in a specific way. I have brought it up with customer relations who are working on my case and they have promised that it can be addressed but I should focus on seeing if the heat issue persists as any repair will cause additional downtime. I have found the main heat issue is still occurring and the next course of action is going back to technical and engineering and spending weeks between them. At the sometime the damage is bothering me as it wasn't caused by me. Should I have the damage addressed first or pursue the heat issue?

Hi,

The heat issue is by far the more important matter, as it concerns the functioning of your MBP. I would definitely get that fixed first.

That's what I thought at first too but Apple support and myself have been going back and forth with it for months and I have a feeling that it will take even more time. While at the same time I don't want them to "forget" that they did damage the machine while handling it.

But you will have the use of your MBP while you have this ongoing dispute with Apple Customer Relations about the dent.
