How do I transfer old Time Machine backups from...

I need to free up a backup disk. I have the space on other backup disks. But I can't do this in the Finder, because I'd set up the first backup disk as case-sensitive, and the other backup disks have the "wrong case sensitivity."

The standard advice is to use Migration Assistant, but that would only let me overwrite my current disk with my 2014 backups, or vice-versa.
