how to stop the updated google drive iPhone app...

When I open a file from iCloud on my iPhone, the (newly updated) Google Drive App automatically tries to save it to Google drive and I cannot open it in iCloud!  I don't want Google Drive to have the file, I cannot open in iCloud any more unless I delete the Google Drive app. This is new with the most recent update to the Google Drive App.
