Calendar resending Exchange meeting invitations...
I am using Calendar on Yosemite to manage my work Exchange calendar. I have a number of recurring daily meetings with a large number of attendees outside my organization. Every morning, my Mac resends the invitation to the meeting for that day, and everyone's inbox is flooded with unnecessary meeting invitations. There is no change to the meeting, so I don't know why it's being sent. And I am fairly confident this is not a problem on the Exchange side, because the invitations get sent when I turn on my computer, as far as I can tell.
Has anyone experienced Calendar being a bit "overzealous" on its invitations like this?
I'm having a very similar issue. Though it appears that invites are resent when I acknowledge in Calendar notifications re: the meeting. For example, if all users accept the meeting, Calendar shows a notification that all users have accepted and you can click OK to dismiss the notification. When I do that it sends the invite again. Very strange and very annoying for the people on my invites.
I'm experiencing the same thing, as well.
I am having the same issue when I click the only option in iCal, which is "Ok" to remove a response to a meeting, it sends an updated invite to all 100 plus attendees. Please provide a solution.
we noticed the problem and made some test. calendar resends the invitation everytime you click on "ok" in notification tray. but it happens only when the end of the appointment is in the future. as soon as the end of the appointment is in the past, then clicking "ok" doesn't trigger a reinvite. it is a clear bug of os x.
it feels like a very easy fix.
btw. i just filed a bug report to apple. let's see what happens.
I have a very similar issue that sounds like the same root cause, and I've had this issue ever since Mac OS started supporting Exchange server;
For any *recurring* meeting that I organise, if I click the 'Snooze' button on the notification- all of the attendees are sent a meeting update.
Sounds like the same issue- and given that it's been around for over 5 years, I suspect it's not going to get resolved any time soon.
Same issue here, but we are fairly certain it only started showing this behavior after upgrading to Yosemite...
Excellent and thanks for filing it. Have you seen any progress on that bug report?
Definitely interested to know if you heard back on the bug report. I have been experiencing this issue and most people now think I just don't understand how to set up meetings. For now I will just leave the notification bar alone - although that is pretty annoying.
I wonder, during your testing - if I click on OK on my iOS device, does it cause the same problem?
I also submitted a bug as well a moment ago, not realizing you already did. I'm experiencing the same issue. Exchange, iCal, Yosemite.
I have what appears to be the same problem only my triggering event is viewing the reminder/notification on my apple watch. Perhaps this a more fundamental problem with iCal across iOS and OS X. Anybody else seeing this also?
Same problem here with the watch. Help!
Same problem for me using the Watch. You dismiss the Calendar notification on the Watch and it causes the meeting invite to be resent to everyone.
I have added a post to the Watch forum in case more help available there.
I found in the Console a number of log lines related to this, I think:
05/07/16 09:48:39,174 CalendarAgent[245]: Stream 0x7f8263e437e0 is sending an event before being opened
Perhaps this is the culprit.
