Default "Compress <filename.here>" Behavior

I've been trying to change the default compression behavior to NOT open a new window whenever I compress a group of files - it can be a huge time sink to have to repeatedly close windows (I'm a production artist and I need to zip individual folders in any given project).

Finding the Achive Utility in System/CoreServices and changing preferences did not work for me, but something finally did. Installing Winzip for Mac (Demo version). Now whenever I right click a folder and compress, it'll create the zip file right there and not open a new window.

I'm not sure -how- this happened. Is Winzip the new service handling file compression behind the scenes? I don't think it is. Either way, it's knocked some sense into my configuration and I figured I'd post it here for anyone else looking to change the default behavior.
