macbook mp3 device

Hello everyone,

I have a macbook air and a sony mp3 device. For the past year I had no problems connecting them and transferring music from my macbook to my mp3 device. All of sudden my macbook doesn't recognize the device any longer. I downloaded all updates and did not make any other changes.

I have searched online and I don't get my problem solved. I know the two can get connected; I just don't know how to fix it now that it doesn't work anymore?
