Alternative apps purely to search iPhone Calend...

It has been brought to my attention that the iPhone does not search anything older than 1 year old.

This is nonsense.

I do not know a single businessman who does not regularly need to search for invoices, appointments, data, messages, etc, often MUCH more than 1 year old.  With my new iPhone just today I needed to reference a series of meetings in 2012, and the built in search features found nothing even though I knew it was there and could manually scroll / tap / tap / tap / scroll my way to the entries.

Both the Calendar "Search" feature as well as Spotlight will not search back more than 1 year, and this is wildly disappointing as I just moved from a Samsung Galaxy, and had a Palm Treo before that, both of which easily had a built-in Global Search that went back infinitely to whatever it could find.  Even on my Mac laptops Spotlight easily searches older than 1 year. 

Just Not On The iPhone.

I have accepted this idiotic choice by Apple designers who must think we are all 13-year-old kids with no lives, and am now looking for a 3rd-Party iPhone APP that will do what the iPhone should do in the first place.  I read some old entries about Calvetica and Fantastical, but neither of these have a try-before-you-buy feature.

Can anyone recommend an App for the iPhone whose purpose would really be purely to be able to do deep global searches regardless of date?  Calendar searches alone would be good, but something even wider that searches the whole phone (or at least all forms of text docs, etc) would be even better.e

I read somewhere that apps like Fantastical and Calvetica often use the same database as iPhone Calendar, which would be good to prevent double-entries.  I would like to still be able to sync my calendar via iCloud, but only once (e.g. to the iPhone Calendar built in, and have that automatically populate to the 3rd Party App).
