Network Printers not Visible

Hi,

I am part of an ICT team at a school and need to clarify if I have exhausted the known solutions to my problem.

I have an issue with any MacOS computer being able to recognise the printers available on our network. The problem lies solely with any Apple computer I try as the many Windows machines we also use are not having any issue finding the network printers. I have conducted vigilant research on the internet and tried the many apparent solutions that have presented themselves to me but to no prevail.

The school has not used Macs for printing for the past couple of years but are now using them in parts of the school as a result of expansion.

Cannot rollback to an earlier version OS as it is our policy at the campus to have all computers on campus completely up to date.

Have not reset the printers to factory default as they are accessible via any device not using MacOS.

I am aware that this is a common issue among Mac users with OS 10.6 and on wards and is an issue or bug related to the OS but I am at a stand still and would highly appreciate any advise or other solutions not mentioned here.

Solutions I have tried:

• Reset the printing system (safe boot and normal boot)
• Manually download and installed drivers respective to the individual printers
• Computer on the same subnet as the network printers
• Added printer manually using IP address and correct drivers
  Printer will then be visible. Print jobs are sent to printer and completed in job list but the unit does not physically receive the print job and stays idle.
• Power cycled printer unit & computers
• Refreshed the Ethernet plugs connected to printer
• Waited up to 20 minutes for network printers to appear in the "Add Printer" then "Windows" tab section.
  Takes a while for the Mac computers to see our network but when it does, the printers still cannot be seen
• Network has been refreshed
  
  

All Macs within the campus are currently updated to the latest OS Sierra 10.12.6
