podcasts locked/unsubscribed

In iTunes 12.7 for Windows 10, several of my podcast subscriptions have been forcibly switched to "Not subscribed" and it has become impossible to subscribe to them as the "Subscribed" switch has a lock icon and won't switch. Re-subscribing to the podcast from the iTunes store doesn't do anything either. Trying to remove the podcast from my podcast list isn't an option as well. Seems to be a major bug in 12.7 -- any suggestions?
