Inherited iPad 5.1.1. Did reset and, of course,...

'Inherited" from a relative.  iPad 5.1.1. Did reset and, of course, lost iBooks. Didn't have a backup. Really only  want it as a reader. Any solutions?

Hi. Did you lose the iBooks app, or the content?

If the iBooks were purchased, they are owned by the relative's Apple ID, and are not transferable. If you know their Apple ID and password, you can login and download them again. If the iBooks were free, you can simply download them for yourself.

You'll need to download the current version of iBooks on to your computer using iTunes (and I do mean the iOS app). Once that's done, on the iPad, go to the App Store. Tap Updates in the lower right corner. Tap "Purchased" at the top of the next screen and select the "Not on this iPad" tab. Find iBooks and to download it. If there is a version that will still work on iOS 5.1.1, you'll be prompted to download that one.
