I purchased an iPad for my kid. She chose an password but forgot it. Now the device is disabled. Any advice please?

Do you mean the passcode? She will have to erase the device to be able to get into it. Please see:

If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support

Or do you mean the password for the associated Apple ID? This can be reset at https://iforgot.apple.com

Hi and thanks for the reply. I meant passcode. She's so upset now and I wanna fix it for her. Unfortunately I couldn't erase it with iTunes.

You should be able to erase it using the method indicated in the bottom section of the page I linked to - scroll down to 'Erase your device with recovery mode to remove your passcode'.
