windows 10 updated yesterday and now my outlook...
windows 10 updated yesterday and now my outlook iCloud add in won't work. I tried all the suggestions provided by Apple and nothing worked. Any ideas?
I solved the problem by uninstalling the icloud app from my Windows based PC and reinstalling it. Previous efforts I made by opening the icloud app for windows and unchecking the calendar and contacts box and then clicking "apply" and then checking the calendar and contacts box and clicking "apply" and then re-opening Outlook failed to work. So in the end, when all else fails, just uninstall the icloud app and re-install it on your Windows based PC.
For some reason, this reminded me of the days when shutting down my old DOS based PC and restarting it fixed software problems. I know it's not exactly the same. But, so be it. I guess this also shows how old I am. In any case, thank goodness it's not those good old days of 640k DOS limits.

And those would be?
Help us help you by telling us what you've already done. How can we know what "all the suggestions" are?
Apple now requires you to use two-factor authentication (two-step verification where two-factor authentication is not available) and create an app specific password for 3rd party applications that access your iCloud account with the use of a password, you can initiate the two-factor authentication (two-step verification) set up and create app specific passwords at My Apple ID
Two-factor authentication is currently available to iCloud users (in most locations) with at least one device that's using iOS 9 or OS X El Capitan or later. If you can’t meet the criteria for two-factor authentication you can set up two-step verification which only requires a device registered with ‘Find my phone' or a phone number able to receive SMS messages.
I have spent many hours on the phone with apple support and they don't seem to have a solution. Does anybody?
As of June 15th, all 3rd party apps like Outlook, needing iCloud access must use an app specific password.

It may be an acknowledged Microsoft issue.

Tried all solutions on this site and elsewhere.
The only "work around" is to remember to manually re-enable the icloud add-in every time I open Outlook. Even checked the Registry, but the add-in is set to "3", which should mean "load on open". But it does not; stays loaded for every Outlook session once I enable, but disabled on close every time, hence the need for the enabling "ritual".
And yes, I have tried running as administrator (when it does load on open!) to disable, close, restart and re-enable as administrator, before going back to ordinary user. Re-installed following clean wipe of iCloud for Windows several times.
Some little incompatibility following latest Windows 10 upgrade. I know Apple and MS are not friends, but it worked fie before latest W10 upgrade; there is a simple coding solution in there somewhere.
Very frustrating because my work computer is Windows 190 Pcs but laptop and all mobile devices are Apple, and I really need to keep my calendar synched.
