Play/pause rewind/skip buttons not working for ...

I have just upgraded to High Sierra and have found that the play/pause and rewind/skip buttons are not working for iTunes.

I am using a rMBP 15" 2014

The buttons seem to work for media within Safari but do nothing with iTunes whether i am on the app or listening to music in the background.

Any help would be much appreciated. This is a vital, VITAL, feature.

I am using a 27" iMac with a wired keyboard and have also found that only those keys are not working with iTunes, very strange, have looked everywhere for a solution and can't find one?
