new gmail app

I received this email from Gmail Team saying I am not using the latest official gmail app.  I downloaded the latest official gmail app from the app store. And it created a new icon.  I do not like it creating a new icon. I want the so called latest official gmail app embedded within the pre-existing Mail icon. Under my Mail icon, out comes automatically my hotmail, yahoo, and gmail emails.

Does anyone know how I can embed the so called latest official gmail app within iPad's Mail icon. So that when I click on the mail icon it will automatically pull up the latest official gmail app as how it is doing it now.

Hi. The Gmail app is a separate app that you can use to access mail. You cannot embed it in the Apple Mail app.

You are perfectly free to continue using the Mail app for all your accounts. You don't have to do what the Gmail Team tells you.

You cannot embed the Gmail app in Apple Mail. They are two separate applications. There is no reason that you cannot continue to use Apple Mail to receive and send your Gmail email if you prefer. If that is the case, you can delete the Gmail app from your iPad if you want. It's strictly a matter of preference and which one works best for your needs. In my case I use and prefer the Gmail app and never use the Apple Mail app -- but that is only a preference.
