I had the same thing, I went to the apple store and was told that, the old iPad mini 2 basically doesn’t support he new software, meaning that when you reset it using iTunes it will try and install he new software but because it’s an older device the iPad will reject it and therefore you will get an error message making these iPads now useless..... thanks apple
