Can iCloud shared calendars transfer event remi...

I am sharing a family calendar with my wife.  I will create an event and add multiple alert reminders for that event that I would also like her to have.  The calendar syncs just fine, but the event reminders (alerts) do not transfer to her calendar.  Is this even possible?  If so, how can I make that happen?

Have her restart the device she expects to receive those alert reminders and see if that might help.
