Wifi only connects after restart

Hi everyone,

My friend's Macbook Pro will only connect to wifi when she restarts the computer, and then the wifi stops working. As you can imagine, this is really annoying, so if any of you have a solution that would be awesome.

The issue is definitely with her computer, because she has the same problem at home and work (and no one else at work has wifi issues).

Details:

MacBook Pro 2012 (bought new, used just over one year, no longer under warranty)

OS is Sierra 10.12.6
