I am having problems performing an iCloud back ...

I am having problems performing an iCloud back up on my iPhone 6 plus.

Every time a back up is performed the following message always appears "The latest back up could not be completed". I have not previously had a problem with my iCloud backup on my iPhone 6 plus Please advice me what can i do

If you are having this problem, here is how you can troubleshoot:

  • Reset Network Settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
  • Delete older backups that you do not need. To do this, go to Settings > iCloud > Storage > Manage Storage
  • If there is an iOS update, upgrade your device
  • Reset your device by holding down the home button and the sleep/wake button together until the screen goes black and you see the Apple logo.
  • (Before doing this, you may want to backup your device using iTunes). Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage > Manage Storage > Select your device that you are unable to backup. Then wait for a few seconds (Backup Options should be loaded completely before you proceed – no spinning wheel). Then Tap Delete Backup. After your backup is deleted, tap Settings > iCloud > Back up and turn iCloud Backup off then on again. Then tap Back Up Now.

You are not alone. It seems that a number of users have had problems backing up to iCloud since upgrading to iOS 9. It took me practically all day yesterday in order to get my 4 iOS 9 devices to successfully backup. The two that I have left on iOS 8 had no problems at all backing up. I have no idea if my good fortune will continue, but this is one of the reasons why I never, ever trust anyone's cloud with my data and why I backup with iTunes and backup my Mac with Time Machine.

I signed out of iCloud, deleted iCloud backups on my devices, deleted backups on my Mac, rebooted my devices, turned off Find my iPhone and did everything but burn incense and wave a dead chicken over my head. It was one of the most frustrating experience I have ever had with any of my Macs or iOS devices.

Take a look at this discussion.....there are others as well. Some of the suggestions in here may work for you.

Your software is faulty.... Do a backup on your phone.. Plug your phone into your computer

and you want to remove the softwear and then reinstall.... Once you complete that process it should

resolve the problem .... i had the problem today .. Took about 8 hours but I did have a extremely patient senior advisor who was patient.with

with me.. And I will write her a letter thanking

her for not giving up on me.... It was a rough begining but she listen

i findly did what she requested ..... And it work perfectly

its a software issue which you can easily fix

eit by calling apple care getting a senior advisor on the phone

or plugging your phone Into your computer and doing a total restore ... Removing the faulty softwear that is on your phone

and redowning the softwear again ... This will fix your issue

either do it on your own or call customer care in the am..... YOU WANT A SENIOR ADVISOR... And they would just walk you via the steps if that would make you more at ease

No it isn't. I had three different devices that the backup would not work on. I stayed the course and finally fixed it on my own without restoring the iOS. But thanks for your suggestions.

How did you fix it on your own? Please tell, I haven't been able to get it to work since the update.

Read my earlier post. Those are the steps that I kept repeating over and over again until I finally was able to backup all of my devices. I just kept trying. It took the better part of a day in order to get the backups to work again.

Is yours the post where it says to change the dns numbers? I've tried everything else what you've done and it still hasn't worked for me.

I Mean my first post in this discussion. All of the suggestions in this discussion are worth trying. It was something that o just kept trying over and over again...deleting backups, turning off Find My iPhone, using different WiFi networks, turning the iCloid backup off an on, signing out of my Apple ID and signing in again, turning WiFi off and on again, rebooting my devices.....

IM not sure why it started working, but it sis. There was particular sequence that I followed either. I tried the same steps over and over again. For whatever reason, it just started working again. The one thing that I did not try was restoring with iTunes. That would benefit be worth trying. I was keeping that as a last resort, not that I am afraid to try it. I have restored with iTunes a few times. I just didn't think that I would need to do it and I didn't.

Thank you, this has helped me to start the iCloud backup. 8mins remaining

I'm still having this issue. I've done everything suggested including restoring network settings and deleting old iCloud backups. Now there are no iCloud backups and iCloud can't even find my phone. When i try to initiate a backup it looks as though it's beginning to work but finishes in less than a minute and nothing has happened. I hope Apple releases a fix for this soon.

I have the same issue! I've been trying everything including what Demo user has tried but nothing happened. I'm really frustrated. Wearily my iPad 2 with iOS 9.1 has no problem. The only thing that I haven't tried is restoring the iOS. Do you guys have anything else different that I would try?

I have been having the same issue. As part of my job I have up to 30 people a day make new iCloud backup and at least 10 of them are having this issue, all have iOS 9.1. All I can hope is that when they release 9.3 that it takes care of this.
