Ultrabeat Samples Disappeared DURING EDITING?

Hello all,

So obviously I know samples can get lost in transmission from session to session (you accidentally move important files without realising all the time, right?), but in this instance I was working on nothing but this one project for a good 3 hours. Of course, me being me, I didn't save once (I did think Logic had an autosave feature but in practice it doesn't seem to be very helpful...). Anyway, I was having unimaginable latency issues which were not only annoying but also affected how automation was read. So I googled my issue and tried to fix it via some options in the preferences and whatnot. As soon as I went to test out the latency on these new settings, I noticed that, when I hit play, half my samples were no longer in the project.

The reason this is so irritating is because my samples are in sample folders, full of other samples, named 'snare1', 'snare2', 'snare3', etc. so remembering exactly which samples are in my project isn't the easiest thing to do.

Ultimately, my question is this:

Is there any way to locate samples I've used in this project, that may or may not still be in it? Whether through Logic (some kind of audio file library per project) or Finder (some way to see what files have been moved, modified, 'used', etc.), there must be something I can do, right!?

Any suggestions for the latency issues would be helpful also.

Thanks in advance.
