"Unexpected error getting club cert" on updatin...

When updating to 10.3.1 I got a message that said "unexpected error getting club cert". What does this mean? I got a warning that some ICloud services may not work due to this, but not which ones or why.

Never saw that error before.  Perhaps consider reaching out to Apple Support -- Contact - Official Apple Support

When I clicked the link you sent I got a webpage that reads "403 Forbidden."

That's odd because the link works for me on Safari and is a link to Apple Support's page.

Double click the Home button and swipe Safari upwards. Go to Settings/Safari and clear History and Website Data. Open Safari and test.

Been trying to update phone since 7:45 AM. Finally about 20 minutes ago it came up with the same notification, "unexpected error getting club CERT."... Phone froze. I did a hard boot restart and now it's trying to update again. Can't get answers.

If it does not finish updating and I have more issues with this, I'm going to do a DFU restore.

It's time to do a spring cleaning on the phone anyway.... free up some space.

This is very easy to fix. I've noticed that each of the 5 times i've got this error after the iPad update, the antenna icon disappeared of the ipad aswell meaning that the iPad has lost it's internet connection. I just quited iPad from home WiFi and shared the 4G connection of my iPhone with it. I've tried the process again and everything went fine.

Same thing happened with me with iphone 7 plus but it has "skip" option... any idea now whats that for?

I think it was to sync your OSx/iOs KeyChain from iCloud. I'm not 100% sure, but almost.

Thanks for your response... any idea how can i change  that option if already chose to "skip"?

This is exactly what solved it for me. Only I just had to walk away from outside of WiFi range (was at work) then tired again.
