My 7th Gen Nano is having problems with the tou...

After I reset the ipod I received from a friend, any time I touch the screen a little black box appears and outlines what ever I am touching. It is preventing me from swiping and even 'clicking' (for lack of a better term) things. Also, I am unable to reset the ipod by holding down the power buttong and the home button - it just turns off. It was fully functioning before I restored it. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what should I do?

Sounds like you turned on VoiceOver. Double tap instead of single tap to select something. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility and turn off VoiceOver.

i dont have voice over on my ipod nano 7th gen and the screen still wont work

If you have ipod nano 7th gen you have to go to Settings > General > Accessibility and turn off VoiceOver, as he said, I had the same problem and it works!

My settings is on the second page and I can't swipe at all. How do I turn whatever this is off?

I had this happen to me! To move the little outline-box thing, you have to touch and hold the icon with the box on it and drag your finger somewhat slowly to the icon you want, then double-click. I managed to figure that out, luckily, and turned off voice over and the nightmare was over, lol. Moving the 'cursor' is the tricky part. Have no idea how or why it happened though.

Had the same problem. Even replaced my iPod...grrrr. There is a Voice Over checkbox in the iPod's settings when you launch iTunes with your iPod plugged into your computer. Deselect it there (because the swiping won't work, as you mention!). THEN, don't forget to click Apply at the bottom right of that screen, then click Done. Feel like I've been let out of Apple jail!
